  • Tow Truck Driver

    SALARY:

    • Hiring Range: $25.30 – $30.35 per hour
    • Full Pay Band for the Role: $25.30 – $35.41 per hour

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    This role is responsible for responding to emergency service requests, identifying mechanical issues and providing applicable roadside assistance on member vehicles so that the member can get on their way. Services are provided through towing and light service vehicles.

    This person will be working from our Fleet shop in SODO, South Downtown, Seattle. Please make sure you are comfortable with this commute.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for providing emergency mechanical assistance on member vehicles, such as jump-starts, battery testing, selling and installation of batteries, tire changes, delivering gasoline, lock-out services, and minor vehicle repairs as permissible.
    • Responsible for towing vehicles to specified location following correct safety and towing procedures.
    • Be the “face” of AAAWA to our members who are stranded and in need of emergency roadside service.
    • Perform electrical, fuel or other system diagnosis on vehicles.
    • Provide customer service to members and other departments as needed.
    • Advise manager of any vehicle or operational issues.
    • Perform minor vehicle repairs on fleet vehicles.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Must be able to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements test
    • 3+ years’ work experience in automotive and/or customer service field
    • 1+ years’ of demonstrated mechanical aptitude and mechanical reasoning
    • Meet minimum age requirement for insurability

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education and training in batteries, vehicle lockouts, tire changing, and roadside safety

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • This position is deemed to be a safety-sensitive position.
    • The work schedule for this position is 10-hour shifts with unscheduled overtime

  • Shuttle Driver

    Pay: $33K – $50K

    Job Summary

    The Van/ Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting hotels guests to/from assigned destinations using property vehicle in a timely and courteous manner. Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. Duties entail but not limited to the following:

    Job Duties

    • Check Shuttle Log/ shuttle board and check for special shuttle requirements or discounts;
    • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards;
    • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation;
    • Document all trips prior to the start of and at the conclusion of each trip;
    • Inspect property vehicle for damage and ensure both the interior and exterior of the vehicle are clean, neat and ready at the start of and the end of each shift;
    • Check tire pressure and fluid levels for property vehicle and refuel as necessary;
    • Ensure that all lights, signals, mirrors, brakes, seat belts, etc. are functioning and in good working condition;
    • Ensure supplies are present and stocked (i.e., First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, flashlight, water, etc.);
    • Notify appropriate personnel of any vehicle maintenance needs.
    • Document all property vehicle incidents (i.e., damages, accidents) and provide reports of incidents to manager;
    • Report all injuries, minor and major, and unsafe work conditions to manager;
    • Comply with company quality assurance expectations and standards.
    • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional;
    • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

    SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
    Working ConditionsOperators must be able to make a pre-check of all items on a vehicle and physically capable of operating controls of mass transit vehicles. These activities entail bending, reaching, kneeling, and stretching. Operators must be able to sit in a seat for a long period of time (up to 3 hours) without a break. Operator must be able to assist elderly and disabled passengers, including lifting and lowering a wheelchair passenger over one step. Able to provide door to door service on paratransit routes which may require a wheelchair passenger over rough terrain. Must be able to handle stress in some cases for as long as ten hours a day. Must be able to adjust to different types of seats and must be able to always wear vehicle seat belt.     Role Purpose:

    Drives switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations. Makes decisions in sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations. Loads and unloads trailers and verifies product count. Maintains a clean and safe docking area and reports any maintenance or safety issues to supervision. Refuels vehicles on site and documents locations and condition of equipment.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Maintain safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
    • Maintains equipment fuel levels and refuels equipment during appropriate times.
    • Loads and unloads trucks, verifying the count and condition of product. Reports overages, shortages, and damages.
    • Performs daily yard checks.
    • Properly secures loads, ensuring loads are within local, state and federal guidelines.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and/or logs as required policies and procedures.
    • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Notifies supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
    • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

    Provide customer service through the delivery and/or pick-up of parts and other products. Unload products from shipping vehicles and store at the appropriate storage area in the warehouse. Provide support to the warehouse operations of the branch. Delivery function accounts for about 50% of time.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Pull and organize customer orders for delivery from warehouse by part number and quantity as directed by picking ticket in priority assigned.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all customers, ensuring the order being delivered is correct and maintaining professionalism in appearance and conduct.
    • Load materials into vehicle and install bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
    • Follow company delivery routes to ensure maximum efficiency of delivery run.
    • Pick up any and all applicable returns and cores, tagging appropriately and returning them to the branch.
    • Determine delivery vehicle is in an operative condition daily by completing daily inspection/log. Maintain a clean vehicle and operate vehicle in a safe manner daily.
    • Manually, load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms or lifting devices.
    • Stock and maintain inventory items in designated warehouse storage areas.
    • Package, label and ship customer orders by UPS, US Mail, bus, motor freight and local truck deliveries.
    • Move controls, levers and devices to drive industrial forklifts to transport materials between loading, unloading, processing and storage areas.
    • Complete forklift operator training annually, provided by The Company.
    • Check all load–related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
    • Check vehicles before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
    • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and emptying trash as necessary.
    • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles immediately.
    • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
    • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING

    • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    • OSHA approved safety toed shoes required from the first day of this job.
    • Proper protective equipment (PPE) will be worn when required and necessary.

    • Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
