    PURPOSE:

    This purpose of this position is to provide door-to-door transportation of Little City participants. Additional responsibilities include safe operation of agency vehicles, following protocols for routine vehicle checks and care, reporting any participant safety, mechanical or operational problems, and completing any required documentation.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The list of essential duties and responsibilities, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the task to be performed.     1. Transport participants by picking up, transporting and dropping off at their scheduled location.
    2. Assist participants with getting in and out of the vehicle as needed.
    3. Act in a professional manner, observe the rights of persons served and maintain confidentiality.
    4. Maintain transportation logs and records according to established policies and procedures.
    5. Operates vehicle safely including observing speed limits, local traffic regulations, and Little City policies and procedures.
    6. Conduct pre-trip/post-trip visual inspections of vehicle, equipment, and supplies (e.g. tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, safety equipment).
    7. Report any participant safety, mechanical or operational problems immediately to the supervisor.

    8. Keep interior and exterior of vehicles clean.
    9. Take vehicles for safety vehicle inspections, maintenance repairs, refueling as needed or if requested.
    10. Maintain a good driving record.
    11. Serve as a positive role model for individuals served.
    12. Maintain American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR.
    13. Successfully complete Little City required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices, or as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
    14. Attend staff meetings when required.
    15. Any other reasonable duties assigned.

    COLLECTIVE BARGAINING:

    This position is part of the collective bargaining unit. Management has the right to schedule work hours and determine the work to be performed. Supervisors must have the flexibility to adjust to changes in scheduling, (including hours, the total number of work hours and work assignments) brought on by program needs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school graduate or GED certificate, preferred. Valid Illinois driver’s license required. A minimum of one-year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities desired. Must meet the insurance requirements per Little City policy in order to be placed on the Approved Driver list. Must have a driving record in good standing in order to be PACE qualified. Must pass the PACE certification process to become PACE certified.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to sitting for prolonged periods; frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions, occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches or bends. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 30 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to perform CPR. Must be able to pass a PACE physical. Must be able to maneuver an occupied wheelchair into a tie down position. Generally, no occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances, but may require performing unplanned Category III tasks (Category II).     Description/Distinguishing Features

    Operates a Metro passenger bus following a designated schedule and route. Responsible for detecting malfunctioning equipment and reporting it, counting passengers carried, and fares collected. Work is reviewed through the safe and satisfactory operation of the vehicle and is performed on a shift basis.

    Part-time status indicates individual will not be scheduled more than 28 hours per week.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.


    The anticipated hourly range for this position is $16.66 – $24.26. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

    • Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.

    Role Purpose:

    Drives switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations.     AAA Light Service Driver. (base hourly + commission + bonus + tips) This position will require some light duty mechanical skills, but can be taught. You will be driving a company vehicle and servicing AAA members when they break down in the Madison area. We do tire changes, door unlocks, battery installs, and jumpstarts.
