    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure mechanical and safety compliance.
    • Load and unload heavy materials (doors, windows, cabinets, trim) manually or with equipment, ensuring accuracy and care.
    • Deliver products safely and efficiently to job sites and customer residences while maintaining high standards of service.
    • Read and follow detailed delivery instructions, manifests, and routing schedules.
    • Plan and adapt delivery routes to ensure on-time arrivals and account for road/weather conditions.
    • Maintain communication with dispatch and branch staff to report delays, issues, or completion of delivery.
    • Ensure paperwork and delivery receipts are completed and signed accurately.
    • Uphold all company safety procedures and comply with DOT/local traffic laws.
    • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
    • Perform light yard or warehouse duties as needed, including staging loads or assisting with inventory.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be insurable).
    • Ability to lift 75+ lbs consistently and perform physical labor, including bending, carrying, and walking on uneven terrain.
    • Previous delivery, warehouse, or construction material handling experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to read maps, use GPS, and follow delivery instructions independently.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Forklift experience or certification a plus.

    Description

    Fernway’s Logistics Specialist will be responsible for delivering Fernway products to cannabis dispensaries across Massachusetts, fulfilling orders in our vault and supporting operational activities across departments. This is a non-CDL position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Loading & unloading vehicles with cannabis product
    • Driving across the state of Massachusetts and/or riding as a passenger for 6-8+ hours per day
    • Driving 200+ miles daily in a safe and responsible manner

  • Delivery Driver Trainee – Company Paid CDL

    Salary: $16.00 Per Hour 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete CDL course to learn how to operate a CDL-A vehicle safely
    • Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, pallet jacks, docks and dock-levelers, trucks and trailers per Caffey Dist. And OSHA standards.
    • Learn how to properly deliver stops in all areas and departments to ensure flexibility.

    Duties

    This position provides non-emergent, safe transportation of eligible Veterans and cargo. The incumbent will operate and provide preventative maintenance for patient transport vehicles. Incumbent is the first contact with the veteran and is responsible for making the first positive impression. Incumbent interacts in a courteous and respectful manner with a wide variety of people each day. Incumbent is responsible for providing the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) program office a list of Veterans who arrived at the VA San Diego Healthcare System via the VTS transportation bus. Incumbent is responsible to insure only eligible Veterans, and their caregivers are transported to the Medical Center or satellite clinic and returned to their respective pick-up locations.


    Major Duties:

    • Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including, van trucks, stake trucks, passenger shuttle vans, and cargo vans. Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules over public roads (or the equivalent) through various kinds of traffic and varying weather conditions.
    • May operate platform, van or stake trucks and cargo vans to pick up and deliver materials and equipment or tow equipment to various locations and work sites.
    • Determine the manner and sequence of loading cargo to achieve load balance and adequate protection for fragile items. \
    • Secure the cargo with tie-down ropes or a tarpaulin to prevent shifting and to protect the load, and mark dangerous or protruding cargo with flags, placards, or reflection lights.
    • Check material loaded or delivered against various documents to prevent errors and to certify the condition of the items and obtain signatures from receiving personnel.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Patient transport vehicle driver must be able to assist patients into and out of the vehicle, which involves physical exertion and frequent stooping, bending, and lifting of patients. Employee works mostly outside, is exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts and bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when load and unloading the vehicle. Operates vehicle in all types of traffic and weather on public roads (or the equivalent), and is exposed to the danger of serious accidents. Employee will drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
    • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
    • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
    • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary.
    • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.
    • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
    • Communicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).
    • Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day.
    • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer.
    • Check invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.
    • Collect payments if necessary.
    • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle on a consistent basis for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.

    Education/Training:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
    Related Experience/Requirements:
    Must be 21 years of age or older.
    Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required. No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years. Must be able to pass DOT physical.
    No commercial or professional driving experience required. One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
    Hand cart delivery experience preferred.
    Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
    Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
