    Responsibilities

    • As a Bus Operator, you will operate school buses to transport students, faculty, and others to and from school, field trips, athletic events, and other events
    • Operates school buses in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Adheres to established schedules to safely pick up, transport, and discharge students and staff
    • Assists students and other passengers to provide safe entrance and exit from buses during emergency situations, bus evacuations, and normal transport

    Job description

    Seeking recent graduates with a Class A CDL to operate regional dry van routes. This role is suited to drivers who have completed truck driving training and are looking for steady, no-touch freight assignments east of I-35.
    • Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 per year.
    • Home time: two days every other week.
    • Area of operation: routes east of I-35.
    • Equipment: late-model Freightliner tractors, automatic, fully equipped.
    • Freight: dry van, 100% no-touch.

    Primary responsibilities:
    • Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and in accordance with DOT and company policies.
    • Transport dry van freight on regional schedules east of I-35.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required logs and maintenance records accurately.
    • Maintain professional communication with dispatch and adhere to customer delivery requirements.

    Minimum qualifications:
    • Valid CDL-A license.
    • Completion of at least 120 hours of truck driving school within the last 12 months.

  • Front Load Driver- Capital City

    Pay: $26/hr

    Qualifications

    • Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works
    • Requires a safe driving record
    • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
    • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles
    • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
    • See in the normal visual range with or without correction
    • Exhibit normal range of body motion
    • Drive a front-end, side, rear-end, or roll off loading refuse truck, including right-hand driver’s position on certain equipment, observing legal and defensive driving practices

      Responsibilities
    • The Front Load Driver operates refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage
    • Performs pre-trip and post-trip truck check and cleaning; and performs other related work as assigned
    • Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation of routes, and discussion of problems
    • The Front Load Driver is responsible for servicing commercial business picking up Front Load Containers
    • Empties containers using levers inside truck cab to empty container into the truck using forks
    • May need to open corral doors to access containers and as needed, rolls 3-4 yard can on castors weighing up to 600 pounds into position for dumping
    • Picks up loose trash off truck and/or ground and cleans up spills that may occur
    • Transports waste to a designated local landfill/disposal area
    • Completes route / productivity sheets, records mileage, fuel consumption, log book (as required), Vehicle Condition Reports, and other forms
    • Communicates professionally with customers and reports any customer issues / complaints to appropriate internal contacts

    • Cleans waste from the packer blade and the truck body on each landfill run to ensure smooth and safe operations

    • Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires – Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

  • Motor Vehicle Operator

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Purpose of Position:

    Under supervision, operates motor vehicles and equipment such as passenger cars, ambulances, hearses, trucks, wreckers, forklifts, tractor-trailer trucks and sign-erecting trucks used by City departments. In a small garage, may do dispatching of personnel, motor vehicles and equipment; performs related work.

    Examples of Typical Tasks:

    1. Operates one or more types of motor vehicles such as passenger car, ambulance, hearse, truck, wrecker, forklift, tractor-trailer truck or sign-erecting truck.

    2. Drives a truck carrying employees and material to and from work location.

    3. Acts as a chauffeur to an official.

    4. Checks the tires, oil and fuel of the vehicle, and checks vehicle to see that lights, horn and brakes appear to be operating properly.

    5. Reports and noticeable mechanical defects in the vehicle.

    6. Cleans the windows and interior and exterior of vehicle.

    7. Changes tires or wheels.

    8. Assists in loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and passengers.

    9. Reports any accidents in which the vehicle may have been involved.

    10. Operates motor equipment mounted on, or transported by, the vehicle.

    11. Watches for traffic hazards while labor force is engaged in making emergency repairs.

    12. Transports collectors and cases of coin boxes to and from collection areas.

    13. Is responsible for tools, supplies, materials, and equipment carried in or on the assigned vehicle.

    14. Prepares trip reports.

    15. In a small garage, may dispatch personnel, motor vehicles and equipment.

    16. In the Police Department, may operate a vehicle which transports inmates to and from detention facilities, police stations and court locations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    There are no formal education or experience requirements. However, there are certain physical requirements.

    License Requirements:
    1. Candidates must possess a Motor Vehicle Drivers License valid in the State of New York and either 2 or 3 below.

    2. For appointment in certain agencies, possession of either a Class 1 or a Class 2 or a Class

    3 Motor Vehicles Drivers License, or a combination of these licenses, may be required at the time of appointment.

    3. For other agencies which do not require the licenses in 2 above at the time of appointment, possession of either a Class 3 Learners Permit or a Class 3 Drivers License is required at the time of appointment. In addition, for these agencies, the Class 3 license must be obtained within three months of the date of appointment.
