River Region Kids LLC is looking to fill a teacher/van driver position.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be 19 years of age or older.
· Must have a High School diploma or GED.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
· Must receive ABI and FBI background check approval and clearance from the State Central Registry on Child Abuse/Neglect.
· Must receive medical clearance from a licensed physician or nurse practitioner.
· Must take a TB Skin Test.
· Must have 12 clock hours of training in childcare and development within 30 days of employment.
· Must have the ability to deal with small children and transport them.
· Must have time management and organizational skills to stay on schedule and keep track of reports.
· Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with adults, teachers, supervisors, and children.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Transport children safely to and from their destinations.
· Arrive at the destination on schedule.
· Lock and unlock the gates as you enter and exit the premises.
· Walk around the vehicle before backing up to ensure there are no children behind the van.
· Help children as they’re entering and exiting the van.
· Ensure that children are wearing their seat belts and/or in State approved car seats before moving the vehicle.
· Fulfill administrative tasks such as completing daily vehicle inspection forms.
· Remain at the Center until route sheets are received.
· Verify the names and number of children on the route making sure that they are all present.
· Call the director immediately if a child listed on the route is not on the van so that a parent may be contacted.
· Do not leave the school before all listed children are present on the van.
· Do not go to any schools other than the ones assigned to the route.
· Drive under the speed limit. Be especially careful when the roads are wet, or the traffic is heavy. Come to a complete stop at all stop signs and red lights.
· Clean the vehicle after the last child has exited the van.
· Report any maintenance concerns to the route supervisor.
· Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
· Do not transport any unauthorized person without prior authorization from the director.
· Assist in the classroom when not driving the van.
