Position Summary:
The Personal Driver to the President and First Lady of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. provides safe, courteous, and professional transportation at all times. This position requires the highest level of discretion, reliability, and attention to detail, ensuring that the President and First Lady arrive to all destinations safely, comfortably, and on time. The role includes both local and out-of-town travel and may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and ministry-related events.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safe, timely, and comfortable transportation for the President and First Lady to and from meetings, worship services, airports, conventions, and other official or personal engagements.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all conversations, schedules, and personal or professional matters.
Ensure vehicles are always clean, well-maintained, and ready for service, including fueling, washing, and scheduling regular maintenance.
Anticipate travel needs by reviewing daily itineraries, routes, and potential delays, providing alternate routes as necessary.
Assist with luggage, materials, and other items as needed, ensuring secure transport and setup at destinations.
Coordinate with staff, security, and event organizers to ensure smooth arrivals and departures.
Monitor traffic, weather, and event conditions to proactively adjust travel plans.
Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, tolls, and maintenance expenses.
Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions, serving as a discreet and trusted representative of the Office of the President.
Maintain communication with designated administrative personnel for updates or schedule changes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred).
Minimum of five (5) years of professional driving experience for executives, clergy, or high-profile individuals.
Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Familiarity with major routes, airports, hotels, and event venues across the region.
Excellent time management and navigation skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional presentation.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, patience, and composure in all situations.
Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel assignments.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Prior experience driving for clergy, dignitaries, or executive leadership.
Defensive driving certification or equivalent training.
Knowledge of vehicle care, detailing, and light maintenance.
Strong sense of integrity, respect, and humility.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a spirit of service.
