Job Overview
The NEMT Driver will transport passengers who may have special mobility needs, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the trip while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport clients to medical and non-emergency appointments.
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) as needed.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to all riders.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and communicate effectively with dispatch about delays or route changes.
- Accurately complete trip logs, mileage, and incident reports as required.
- Perform light lifting as needed to assist passengers with mobility or personal items.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous driving experience required (NEMT, shuttle, or paratransit experience preferred).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with elderly and disabled passengers.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to assist with mobility devices and perform light to moderate lifting.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety practices.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type; clean driving record required.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
