  • Driver for Seniors

    Salary: $21.63 Per Hour

    Program Summary
    Enhance Equity program is to provide services that will assist clients in remaining as independent as possible, to delay or prevent out-of-home placement, and support client self-determination.

    Position Summary
    Drivers provide transportation services using agency owned vehicles for seniors, 60 years of age and older living in Multnomah County. The Driver is responsible for providing transportation for seniors to attend IRCO congregate meals three times per week. Occasionally transport clients to field trips and other activities organized by Senior services. Works in a multi-cultural environment.

    Essential Functions

    • Provide transportation for seniors from various locations to and from IRCO main office and Africa House
    • Operate IRCO passenger van or bus (up to 15 people) safely and responsibly
    • Transport seniors according to assigned schedules
    • Inspect vehicles before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues to Operation Manager
    • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and IRCO policies
    • Work closely with Senior program staff and volunteers to coordinate activities/ pick up and drop off times

    Secondary Functions

    • Ability to provide great customer service
    • Ability to handle stress in professional matters
    • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the availability of clients

    Requirements:


    Education & Experience

    • High School or GED
    • Minimum 3+ years of driving experience (preferably transporting passengers in a van or bus)
    • Strong communication skills,

    Physical, Mental, & Environmental Requirements

    • Positions at this level require moderate physical effort and manual labor such as carrying constant movement, frequent lifting of light items, and some lifting of moderately heavy objects.
    • Work under close supervision
    • There is some personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are somewhat uncomfortable due to varying work environments; inclement weather; or individuals of unpredictable, possibly harmful intent

  • Van Driver

    Pay: $16.25 Per Hour

    The City of Plano Library Department is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Van Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for transporting books, equipment, mail, and money pouches between library branches and city departments while delivering excellent customer service with professionalism and respect. The Van Driver also fuels, cleans, and maintains vehicles, keeps accurate trip records, and ensures safety protocols are followed. Additional duties include assisting with special projects such as book sales, seasonal cleanups, and moving furniture. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to teamwork are essential.

    Summary of Duties: Under basic supervision, the Van Driver is responsible for providing mail and delivery service for the libraries.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Knowledge of: Plano streets and thoroughfares; basic vehicle procedures; library practices and procedures; traffic laws; safe driving practices.

    Skill in: Operating a motor vehicle on public thoroughfares; maintaining vehicles according to department standards. Effective workplace communication, including written, verbal and active listening skills.

    Education: No formal education required.

    Experience: Six (6) months of experience driving a vehicle to make deliveries required.

    Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above minimum qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.

    Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class C driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire per state law).

  • Van Shuttle Driver

    Salary: $14.00 Per Hour 

    Essential Job Duties

    • Safely transport passengers to approved designated drop off & pick up points as approved by management
    • Check hands free device for connectivity before starting shift in vehicle
    • Perform vehicle safety inspection using checklist prior to transporting passengers
    • Monitor interior of van for cleanliness. Remove trash and perform light cleaning.
    • Maintain a safe vehicle. Alert management of any operational concerns
    • Maintain necessary service records
    • Completes mileage logbook
    • Monitors gas tank level and replenishes as needed.
    • Complies with all laws and regulations regarding operating, maintaining assigned company or leased vehicle
    • Warmly greet passengers as they enter/depart the van
    • Ensures that passengers complete passenger log prior to departure. Files log.
    • Offer water to passengers during warm months
    • Assist passengers with luggage as needed
    • Analyze passenger’s pick-up/drop-off schedules to ensure efficiency in shuttle runs
    • Support other departments as needed during downtime
    • Additional duties may be added at any time at the discretion of management
