  • Shuttle Driver

    Salary: $32K – $49K

    Meet, greet and welcome customers of WVU Medicine while manning the shuttles. The shuttle drivers must have great customer service and driving skills when operating the shuttles.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

    1. Must arrive to assigned area to prepare shuttle for the days run. Checking fluid and operation of the shuttle prior to loading the first passenger of the day.

    4. Report all accidents / incidents immediately to your supervisor.

    5. If problematic situations arise, you are to contact your supervisor immediately.

    6. At all times follow the designated route and follow the guidelines when loading / unloading passengers. (i.e. 5 minutes, Full Shuttle or Another Shuttle Arrives)

    7. All shuttles are to be maintained inside and out during non-peak hours by the individual drivers of the shuttle.

    8. If the Shuttle develops mechanical issues, document the problem and notify your supervisor immediately.

    9. No Cell Phone usage while Shuttle is operating per the law and policy.

    10. Breaks are to be taken on non-peak times.

    11. Communication between drivers upon leaving or arriving at a destination is required via radio.

    12. Documentation of passengers is to be updated at all destinations.

    13. Any suspicious activity is to be reported to the Security Dispatcher immediately

    14. Any vehicle assist with other motorist or employees are to be reported to Security Dispatcher immediately.

    15. Must know how to operate wheelchair lift on handicap equipped Shuttles.

    1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to communicate with passengers regarding the Shuttle Services.

    2. Continuous sitting, within the shuttles from parking lot areas is required in order to transport passengers to retrieve vehicles / arrive to destinations.

    3. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients / employees, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient’s profile and appropriate algorithms.

    4. Evaluation by Occupational Medicine required upon hire or transfer to ensure medical fitness. Periodic evaluation after hire required. Any significant changes in health-status must be reported.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drives company vehicle to transport passengers.
    • Receives request for passenger service and picks up passengers at prearranged locations.
    • Assists passengers with entering and exiting vehicles and assists with any items.
    • Ensures passengers reach their destinations safely and on time.
    • Observes safety regulations and state laws regarding vehicle operation; ensures passengers also follow applicable safety regulations.

    Working Conditions

    This position will require working outdoors while loading and unloading their Residents. The position also involves working indoors meeting and organizing Residents needing transportation. Position will work in a closed vehicle on a daily basis. Position is often exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors. Position will work near Residents, but usually have a few feet of space separating them from others.

  • Vehicle Driver

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Operate a passenger vehicle on specified routes. Obey traffic rules and regulations. Adhere to MTA policies and procedures. Monitor safe mechanical operating condition of assigned vehicle. Safely pick up and discharge passengers at designated locations.
    • Operate vehicle in a safe manner, using defensive driving techniques. Strive to maintain assigned schedule. Make designated stops either on assigned routes or at Dial-A-Ride (DAR) pickup and drop-off locations.
    • Inspect and prepare assigned vehicle for operation by performing a thorough pre-trip inspection including adjusting seat, mirrors and seat belts, displaying proper signage, testing the lift, and equipping coach with needed supplies, i.e., farebox, schedules, trip sheets, rider alerts, route binder, etc.
    • Inspect vehicle at the end of each shift for damage and lost articles. Remove passenger and schedule information, debris, and other inappropriate items. Complete appropriate paperwork and turn in lost and found items.
    • Maintain an awareness of the conduct of passengers while they are riding the bus and/or, when present at designated boarding locations. Take action to ensure safe and comfortable environment for everyone on the bus; may be called on to refuse service to a rider on occasion in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Collect appropriate cash fares and ticket fares, through the operation of a farebox collection system. Check passes and other fare instruments.
    • Promote positive passenger relations; greet passengers in a friendly and courteous manner. Properly secure passengers and mobility devices; provide assistance in loading and unloading packages or other items carried by passengers.
    • Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times. Observe uniform requirements and/or other rules, policies, and regulations as outlined by MTA.
    • Provide information concerning routes, schedules and transfer points. Assist passengers as appropriate, including the announcement of all major stops on fixed/deviated routes.
    • Monitor two-way radio calls, reporting conditions such as accidents, passenger incidents, mechanical malfunctions, delay in service, and traffic problems using predetermined codes.
    • Attend and actively participate in training and meetings; maintain certifications in compliance with licensing requirements.
    • This position requires utilizing a tablet as a tool to complete your daily work. You will receive training on the procedures for using the tablet, but willingness to learn or experience using a touch screen tablet to navigate menus and submit data is required.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS:

    • Perform duties in support of ongoing and special projects.
    • Serve on committees, task forces and other work groups.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and any duties of a similar nature or level needed to make MTA a world-class transit agency.
    • Assist and/or provides route training to new drivers.
    • Participate in the driver volunteer assistant program.

    The Escort Driver supports orchard operations by safely escorting farm equipment, work crews, harvest vehicles, and authorized visitors throughout orchard property and along designated public or private access routes.   • C-CARTS Scheduler & Operator

    Salary: $20.15 – $22.95 Per Hour 

    Experience Requirements

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
    • Experience in a busy office environment with moderate interruptions is preferred.
    • A minimum of five years of experience driving any motor vehicle (including private vehicle/car) is required.
    • Experience working in a customer service setting, such as retail, food service, office reception, or related work setting, is preferred.
    • Must be 21 years of age or over.
    • Must hold a valid State of Illinois driver’s license with a current mailing address listed and have maintained a valid Driver’s License (any state) for at least five years.
    • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check for prior traffic violations, including no major violations in the past five years and no minor violations for the past three years.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors bus and street conditions for schedule and procedure compliance
    • In coordination with other Schedulers, changes run schedules and equipment to respond to system problems to maintain efficient and effective service
    • Assists in all emergency situations involving vehicles such as intervening with problem passengers, communicating accident information, performing redirection of service and directing responding personnel to an area

    Work Hours

    This position will generally work a 9:00am – 5:30pm shift from Monday through Friday. However, the schedule will fluctuate based on scheduling needs and could potentially cover other shifts ranging from 4am – 7pm (8-hour shift maximum).

    Position functions in both an office setting and operating transit vans. The exertion level required for this position while performing office duties is generally considered light work. Physical requirements include stooping, bending, standing, squatting/crouching, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulders. While performing the duties of this job, employees are often required to sit, with regular periods of walking and standing; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; use vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or a up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

    The exertion level for the position during operation of transit vans is considered medium work. Physical demands include:

    • Ability to sit without discomfort for prolonged periods of time on a variety of driver’s seats in different model vehicles.
    • Fit safely behind the steering wheel in such a manner that a safe clearance exists between the abdomen and the steering wheel.
    • Fit in the driver’s seat to safely operate the accelerator, brake pedals and floor signal switches
    • Constant and repetitive use of hands, arms, and fingers to grasp and push steering wheel and controls.
    • Turn head up to 180 degrees in either direction on a regular and frequent basis.
    • Walk and climb/descend steps to enter and exit a District vehicle.
    • Operate the various securement mechanisms to secure a wheelchair on a District vehicle.
    • Occasionally crouch, kneel, and bend to complete pre- and post-trip checks and to assist customers.
    • Position requires ability to talk and hear; use vision to read printed materials, signs, and monitor traffic, and dexterity to use equipment properly.
    • Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally or a up to 20 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves exposure to conditions generally found in an office setting within a shared workspace. The noise level is quiet to moderate. There are frequent interruptions to this position’s workflow with moderate foot traffic. There is an expectation to hold and attend meetings on a regular basis.

    During van operation, the employee will be confined to a driver’s seat and subject to varying noise levels and frequent interruptions. The District operates vehicles in service through various weather conditions at all hours of the day and night. Employee will be subject to high traffic, air and noise pollutants, vehicle contaminants, and temperature extremes.

    Additional Information

    • Work shifts vary from day to night, as needed. C-CARTS operates Monday through Friday, including holidays, and this position may require some work outside of traditional business hours.

    Salary: $17.00 – $25.00 Per Hour

    Key Responsibilities for Delivery Driver / Medical Couriers:

    • Deliver medical supplies and platelet boxes promptly and securely.
    • Follow GPS and delivery instructions accurately.
    • Use a delivery mobile app to manage assignments and track deliveries.
    • Perform light physical labor including bending, lifting, and carrying packages.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

    Requirements for Delivery Driver / Medical Couriers:

    • Independent Contractor.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Must be 21 years or older.
    • Clean and current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
    • Valid vehicle registration and insurance.
    • Ability to follow GPS directions without issue.
    • Excellent time management and communication skills.
