  • Shuttle Driver

    Salary: $32K – $49K

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.     1. Must arrive to assigned area to prepare shuttle for the days run. Checking fluid and operation of the shuttle prior to loading the first passenger of the day.

    2. Must arrive on time and wearing proper uniform issued to you.

    3. Must follow all traffic laws, posted speed limits and signals.

    4. Report all accidents / incidents immediately to your supervisor.

    5. If problematic situations arise, you are to contact your supervisor immediately.

    6. At all times follow the designated route and follow the guidelines when loading / unloading passengers. (i.e. 5 minutes, Full Shuttle or Another Shuttle Arrives)

    7. All shuttles are to be maintained inside and out during non-peak hours by the individual drivers of the shuttle.

    8. If the Shuttle develops mechanical issues, document the problem and notify your supervisor immediately.

    9. No Cell Phone usage while Shuttle is operating per the law and policy.

    10. Breaks are to be taken on non-peak times.

    11. Communication between drivers upon leaving or arriving at a destination is required via radio.

    12. Documentation of passengers is to be updated at all destinations.

    13. Any suspicious activity is to be reported to the Security Dispatcher immediately

    14. Any vehicle assist with other motorist or employees are to be reported to Security Dispatcher immediately.

    15. Must know how to operate wheelchair lift on handicap equipped Shuttles.

    1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to communicate with passengers regarding the Shuttle Services.

    2. Continuous sitting, within the shuttles from parking lot areas is required in order to transport passengers to retrieve vehicles / arrive to destinations.

    3. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients / employees, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient’s profile and appropriate algorithms.

    4. Evaluation by Occupational Medicine required upon hire or transfer to ensure medical fitness. Periodic evaluation after hire required. Any significant changes in health-status must be reported.

    Salary: $28.00 – $32.75 Per Hour

    Job Description

    Using a hospital vehicle, provides transportation service inside of 35 miles for employees, patients and visitors between the hospital, airport, valet lots, St. Jude parking lots, St. Jude sponsored lodging facilities and other outside services identified as a need for patients and families. Obtains hospital mail from main post office and delivers daily to hospital Mail Center. Completes miscellaneous pick-ups for all affiliated hospital services and return to appropriate departments. Regularly performs preventive maintenance checks, and recommends service as needed. Maintains a positive image for St. Jude and conducts business in a professional and customer friendly manner. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Operates a hospital motor vehicle to transport employees patients and visitors between the hospital and St. Jude parking lots and the St. Jude sponsored lodging facilities. Maintains a scheduled route/time throughout the work shift. Greets passengers in a cheerful manner and assists passengers entering/exiting the vehicle as required. Assists passengers with baggage supplies etc. When going to St. Jude lodging facilities enters each facility to ensure all passengers are aware of his/her arrival and departure. Ensures that all passengers have buckled their seat belts before putting the vehicle in motion. Maintains positive employee and staff relationships. Generates no complaints regarding service to passengers.
    • May be required to transport isolation patients inside the St. Jude Housing Loop requiring the driver to promptly cleaning the inside of the vehicle before the next patient transfer.
    • May be required to transport patient swabs, labs, and prescriptions within a 20-mile radius.
    • Obtains hospital mail from post office and delivers to hospital mailroom. Post Office Box 318 is emptied and sack mail is obtained at the mail counter window. Delivers mail to hospital mailroom no later than 9:00 a.m. each morning. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution.
    • Performs general valet service for patients and guest of the hospital. Be accountable for logging in/out guest keys, transferring vehicles from valet area to secure parking lot and retrieving it upon guest request.
    • Preform pre and post check of vehicles to ensure damage is noted.
    • Manage valet parking area for optimal use, assist patients with wheelchairs, bags, medical equipment, and keep valet and parking area clean and free from debris.
    • Performs operational inspection of vehicle to ensure safety. Regularly checks the vehicle for preventive maintenance to include fluid levels tire pressure lights gas oil water and interior using the Daily Vehicle Inspection Sheet. Performs simple routine maintenance. Recommends and obtains service as necessary. Writes the vehicle asset number and mileage on the Daily Vehicle Inspection Sheet. Attaches the invoice to the daily log.
    • Maintains a daily vehicle passenger log. Completes the daily log with accurate information i.e. vehicle asset number beginning and ending mileage date and drivers name. Lists the arrival and departure time for each scheduled stop, when required. Lists the number of passengers off-loaded and picked up by location, when required. At the end of each shift turns the completed log into the Manager.
    • Miscellaneous responsibilities: Fuels the vehicle as needed at a designated vendor. Writes the vehicle mileage and asset number on the fuel receipt. Attaches the receipt to the daily log. Monitors the interior of the vehicle for cleanliness and keeps all litter picked up. Regularly cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
    • Provide best Patient Experience possible.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the objectives of the department and the institution.
    • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

    Minimum Education and/or Training:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

    Minimum Experience:

    • One (1) year experience as a professional driver required.
    • Must have an excellent driving record.
    • Must have skills in the safe and efficient operation of appropriate size vehicle.
    • Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of a motor vehicle.

    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

    • (LC: DLF-TN or DLF-ARK or DLF-MISS) Must have or obtain a valid Commercial Driver License or class D driver license with “F”, “P” or equivalent endorsement from the employee’s state of residence within the probationary period (90 days of hire date) and be insurable by St. Jude’s insurance carrier.

    The Minnesota Veterans Home – Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Driver for our 53-acre campus.     Essential Functions

    Completes training and development classes as provided by the Director/Supervisor/Safety Officer.

    Organizes schedule to ensure passengers reach destinations at appointed times.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience:

    High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED), and six (6) months of experience in public driving, chauffeuring, and/or scheduling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Licenses or Certifications:

    Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.

    Salary: $22.77 – $30.74 Per Hour 

    Job Summary:

    Transports City of Loveland residents, which includes seniors, persons with disabilities, general public, and students in a skillful, caring, responsible and safe manner. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.

    The work schedule for this position is varying hours and includes early mornings, late evenings, holidays, special assignments and events

    • Frequent minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
    • Frequent exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
    • Occasional exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.

    Hours: 24/7Service (scheduling determined weekly)
