  • Bus Driver

    Salary: $38K – $52K

    • Transports clients to and from the contracted vendor and designated location, following a pre-planned route according to a definite time schedule; communicating in harmony with parents and staff.

    • Assumes responsibility for the safety of all passengers in loading, unloading, and transporting them to and from a pre-determined designated location and the contracted vendor.
    • Is knowledgeable of Passenger Assistance guidelines and passenger restraint procedures.
    • Operate manual and remote-controlled wheelchair lifts.
    • Regulates heating equipment and ventilation of buses for the comfort of passengers.
    • Logs mechanical inspection (lights, tires, etc.) and cleanliness of vehicle on daily trip sheet; documenting findings or concerns.
    • Checks water, gas, oil, and mechanical condition of the bus weekly.
    • Reports delays and accidents immediately.
    • Reports defects or problems with vehicle to SDON immediately.
    • Keeps operational records and makes simple reports.
    • Assures bus meets regular maintenance schedules.
    • Performs related work as required, such as vehicle cleaning as needed.

    Shifts:
    Monday thru Friday 6 am to 10 am and 2 pm to 6 pm

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and of precautions necessary to avoid accidents.
    • Ability to complete various forms and records, including updated route sheets, timesheets, field trip forms, incident and accident reports, etc.

    – Escort Oversized Loads: Lead and guide oversized or heavy loads, ensuring proper routes are taken.

    – Traffic Control: Alert other drivers of the oversized load presence, using warning lights, flags, or signals.

    – Route Planning: Work with logistics teams to plan safe and efficient routes that avoid potential hazards or restrictions.

    – Communication: Maintain communication with the load driver and other pilot vehicles, relaying important information regarding road conditions or detours.

    Shuttle Driver

    The Shuttle Driver drives a passenger van to transport customers from the dealership to their home or business and may pick them up for a return trip to the dealership. The driver may assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle. He or she will operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.

    The Shuttle Driver may perform errands for the dealership to transport or pick up materials from various local destinations. The driver also will clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories, keep records of trips and behavior of passengers (if disruptive). He or she may perform other duties when not driving, such as custodial and light building maintenance tasks.

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Drive passenger van (up to 15 passengers) or a passenger vehicle to transport customers (log mileage).
    • Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle if needed.
    • Follow customers’ directions to arrive at desired destination.
    • Monitor vehicle maintenance/fuel.
