Salary: $55,000 – $75,000/year
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Correctly operates a tractor/trailer including road operation, backing and parking.
- Follow specific scheduled routes or respond to requests from dispatcher management for pick-ups or drop-offs.
- Transmits and receives over two-way communication systems.
- Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch of potential problems.
- Reports accidents or other safety situations to dispatch.
- Inspects the exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for all DOT required checks, prior to moving vehicle.
- Responsible for ensuring inside and outside of vehicles are properly cleaned an fueled on a ongoing basis.
- Keeps the interior of vehicle neat and orderly.
- Monitors vehicle conditions and records malfunctioning items or damage on a Driver Vehicle Inspection form and submits to manager.
- Accurately completes driver trip sheets, fuel sheets and logs (if required).
- Treats all customers and other people in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Also, may be required to perform other related duties as requested.
Qualification Requirements:
- No formal education required.
- 2-year tractor – trailer experience.
- Clean 3-year MVR.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of all DOT and FMCSA regulations and rules.
- Must possess a valid Clas A license.
Special Requirements
Must be able to pass Department of Transportation and Acuity Ink physical exams and successfully complete an alcohol/drug screening process. Must also be available to work flexible hours.
