    Flying Food Group is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Class B Drivers to join our team at LAI. This position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality airline catering services, ensuring that food, beverages, and equipment are safely and efficiently loaded onto aircraft. You will be responsible for operating hi-lift catering trucks, following DOT Regulations, adhering to strict airport ramp safety and food handling regulations, and maintaining airline loading standards on different types of aircraft.

    Essential Functions
    • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in proper working order and report any issues to maintenance on the inspection report and hand in the report upon returning to the facility.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork such as pre-trip inspections, training records, logbook etc.
    • Conduct basic cleaning and maintain the hi-lift trucks in good working condition.
    • Verify that vehicles have adequate fuel for the trip, and stocked with safety equipment before starting each shift and report any operational issues to the supervisor.
    • International spill kits are readily available and properly stocked. In the event of an international spill, report it immediately to your supervisor
    • Understand and follow specific airline catering guidelines for galley loading.
    • Adhere to detailed loading and stowage procedures for various aircraft types, ensuring all items are secure and correctly loaded exchanged at the aircraft galleys.
    • Safely offload trucks at the inbound dock and carefully position carts, carriers and international trash in the dish room. Take the beverage carts and carriers to the airline’s liquor storage areas, adhering to all liquor handling and security standards.
    • Double-check all trucks prior to departing the airfield, ensuring all outbound positions are loaded correctly, and no non-exchange (NX) positions are mistakenly offloaded.
    • Load trucks at the outbound dock following airline-loading standards to ensure all positions are loaded.
    • Load airline cabin linen bins into the truck, delivering the bins to the cleaners at the aircraft. Upon return to the kitchen, place laundry bins in their designated storage areas.
    • Handle regulated trash following APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) protocols to prevent contamination.
    • Safely drive and operate hi-lift catering trucks to transport food, beverages, and equipment from the Flying Food Group facility to aircraft at designated airports.
    • Accurately position the hi-lift truck at the aircraft door and open the aircraft door following Flying Food Group ramp safety protocols and airline-specific procedures.
    • Load and unload catering items at the aircraft, ensuring all orders are handled with care and placed according to airline specifications within the aircraft galley.
    • Verify the accuracy of deliveries, including food equipment and beverages carts/carriers and communicate any discrepancies to supervisors.
    • Identify and separate clean equipment from dirty equipment including liquor carts and carriers and take them to their proper locations at the facility.
    • Follow all airport ramp safety procedures, including speed limits, clearance zones, and restricted access areas, while operating vehicles on the tarmac.
    • Coordinate with ground and ramp personnel to ensure safe operations around aircraft.
    • Work closely with airline station staff to ensure seamless service delivery, meeting tight schedules and maintaining high service standards.
    • Maintain compliance with all FFG, TSA and local airport authority regulations.
    • Wear the company issued PPE at all times.
    • Comply with all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) food safety guidelines throughout the process.
    • Properly apply dry ice to meal carts, beverage carts, and ice cream, ensuring food items remain at the correct temperatures. Bag and handle wet ice according to airline standards.
    • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

    Skills and Qualifications
    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): Class A or B with air brake endorsement or Class B.
    • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience driving large trucks, preferably in catering, logistics, or food service delivery.
    • Experience working in an airport environment, with a solid understanding of ramp safety protocols.
    • Familiarity with food safety standards or willingness to undergo HACCP training.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. work in various weather conditions and meet the physical demands of the role.
    • Strong driving and vehicle operation skills, with a focus on safety.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling deliveries.
    • Excellent communication skills for interacting with airline crew, ground staff, and supervisors.

    • The CDL Shuttle Driver position is responsible for the effective, efficient and safe transportation, loading and unloading of passengers & employees to and from the assigned destinations, and to ensure that all activities support the safety and welfare of all passengers
